Nomenclator Registration Center

Welcome! We are happy that you interested in joining the Internet Nomenclator Project. By registering, you bring us a step closer to being the largest distributed white pages service in the world.

Nomenclator uses several techniques to provide fast, integrated access to information. The Internet Nomenclator Project applies these techniques to CSSO name servers to provide a global white pages service. The People schema describes the information in the global white pages.

CCSO sites participate in the pilot by registering to answer Nomenclator queries. Nomenclator is designed to constrain queries to a small set of the available CCSO sites, so CCSO sites receive only the queries relevant to their database. Nomenclator helps users who are looking for a particular CCSO server to find that server while preventing the high loads caused by exhaustive and redundant searches. If you are registering a CCSO site, you will need to supply information about your server. You will also need to give us some information about the schema for your CCSO database and how it is used. A CCSO system administrator can probably answer our questions in 60 minutes.

The Internet Nomenclator Project will eventually be recruiting client sites that will make queries through Nomenclator. If you register a client site, we will inform you when the our query service becomes available.
